We have a new uniform taking up space on the laundry rack recently because someone made the team. ❤️⚽️
This year, Amir tried out for the high school team...and this time he made it.
"...it was painful to watch my child not have the outcome he hoped for..."
Last year was his first year in high school and it was hard to watch him make his way through that transition. Socially, academically, and athletically he struggled to find his place in the huge school he was now learning to navigate. As a mother, it is so painful to watch my child not have the outcome he hoped for, and seeing him fumble with his organization and executive functioning was also eye-opening. This experience turned into an opportunity for Feras and me to get him some help.
"So we invested in one, and guess what... it worked!"
We decided that getting Amir a life coach would work to help him handle the disappointment of soccer and to help him finish the school year off strong. So, we invested in one, and guess what... it worked! The life coach helped Amir get more focused, set goals, break mindset blocks and establish a solid routine. It also helped him with the confidence to go and try-out for the high school team again. This year has been a complete 180 for him.
It’s interesting how Amir benefited from a life coach—the very work I dedicate myself to daily. I recognized what he needed, and tried to do things to help him, but it wasn’t working having the messaging coming from his mom.
"I got to witness the full effects of life coaching from the receiving end, as an indirect participant!"
It needed to be someone else. Who wasn’t connected to him personally, but was there to guide him and help him see his full potential. I got to witness the full effects of life coaching from the receiving end, as an indirect participant too. By becoming who he is today, I was able to witness how much good has come for not only Amir, but also me and my family. This experience brings me so much validation in knowing I am doing amazing things with Mama Knows Her Worth and in my role as a holistic life coach for mothers.
Similarly to Amir, when I work with a mother, it not only affects her life in different ways, but it also has ripple effects in how she shows up as a mother, a wife, and a woman.
