Jennifer Younes, Certified Holistic Life Coach for Mothers

My Story
Can I tell you a secret? When I first wrote out “My Story” it was a chronological list of my life and major happenings from the day I was born to present day Jennifer. It was informative about my life, and very safe (as far as opening up and putting myself out there), but in all honesty, it was BOOORRRIIING!!
So, I started over and I took time to really sit down and think about what I wanted to have come across on this page. What I wanted you all to know about ME…so here we go…
My name is Jennifer Younes and I was born in Houston, Texas on October 30th, 1982 – HA!! I’m kidding, I’m kidding, sorry I had to!
But really, what I want you to know is my name is Jennifer. I am a recovering people-pleaser and mother of three, and I LOVE BEING A MAMA!! But I didn’t always love it. Actually, I started motherhood anxious and overwhelmed. My husband, Feras, and I were the first among our friends and siblings to have babies, so there were no trailblazers before us to show us the way. I felt a lot of pressure to do everything perfect and right and take everyone’s opinions into consideration.
Thankfully, our first born, Amir, was an easy baby. We had a good rhythm, and although I was anxious inside, I tried to make it all look natural and effortless. But just six months later, life threw us a curveball—we found out we were pregnant again. Our daughter Mina arrived when Amir was only 15 months old, and suddenly I was a mom of two under two. Needless to say, the overwhelm hit hard.
I kept up the facade that everything was fine, but inside, I was crumbling. I ran myself ragged taking care of everyone else, using the only quiet moments I had to clean, cook, and keep things together. There was no space for rest, no room for self-care.
Over time, I lost my sense of self. I stopped caring about how I looked, what I needed, or what brought me joy. I became a “good mom” on the outside, but inside, I was disappearing.
By the time our third baby, Zain, arrived, I was mentally, emotionally, and physically drained. Despite having a supportive husband and helpful parents and sisters, I felt alone. My breaking point came on a snowy morning in 2015, when a semi-truck lost control and nearly hit me and Amir as we were walking to school. We escaped, but that terrifying moment shook me to my core. It became my wake-up call.
After years of surviving, I finally sought help—therapy, medication, a naturopath, and major lifestyle changes. I cleaned up my diet, balanced my thyroid, and began to feel like myself again. I even took on a part-time job—not for the money, but because I needed to reconnect with me. From there, I dove into deeper healing: exploring energy work, personal growth, and spirituality. I realized that joy, confidence, and my purpose could co-exist with motherhood.
Over time, I started sharing my story with other moms—and what I found was powerful. We were all experiencing similar struggles, just suffering in silence. That’s when I knew my story had purpose.
In 2023, I enrolled in Alan Cohen’s Holistic Life Coaching program, and a year later launched Mama Knows Her Worth, where I have the honor of coaching women as they rediscover themselves and reconnect with their joy, their identity, and their worth as both mothers and individuals.
Motherhood is the most rewarding and thankless job we’ll ever have. It’s easy to lose ourselves in it—but we don’t have to. I believe every mom deserves support, space, and the tools to thrive—not just survive.
So, this version of “My Story” is what I want you to know about me, and about my journey so far through motherhood. This really is the why behind me being a life coach for mothers. I know how bad motherhood can feel, and now how good it can feel. And I want you to know how both feel too; because in motherhood, the real magic begins when Mama knows her worth!
